Workshops: Workshops are held twice a year, in the spring and the fall. Our Fall, 2009 workshop was held on October 31, 2009 at Monmouth County Library, Symmes Lane, Manalapan, NJ. Sprint Relay explained and demonstrated the various CapTel products. Morning coffee and lunch were included in this free workshop. Captioning and interpreters provided by the NJ Div.of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing assured all could understand.
Walk4Hearing: We plan to participate again in the Hearing Loss Association-NJ (HLA-NJ) Walk4Hearing to be held on October 16, 2010 at Mercer County Park in Hamilton Township, NJ. Our share of the proceeds last year was $1,111.00 and this was our first attempt. We hope to do even better this year! Our partnership with HLA-NJ allows us to split the net proceeds 50/50 AND help two great organizations work towards the same goal: to improve the lifestyle of those with hearing loss. The Walk4Hearing is a healthy, safe and fun way for all to gather and show solidarity. We encourage you to join us. Our cause is your cause. Go to the Walk's Website:www.walk4hearing.org and click on the "Find A Walker Or Team" link at the top of the page. Select the option for a team search, and type "ALDA-Best" in the search box. Click on the team name, then on "Join Team", and you are on your way to becoming a team member. You can also support us by donating to the team members, all of whom are anxious for support.
